AAUW WI Leadership
Leadership VP Anne Lee
annelee@wctc.net
AAUW-WI established the vice president of leadership to help Wisconsin branch members develop and enhance their leadership skills. Some of the duties of the V.P.-Leadership are to offer workshops and articles on leadership training as well as to coordinate a committee comprised of the five district coordinators. In the recent past, I have offered workshops on leadership at our Fall Spectacular Savvy Saturdays, helped the district coordinators communicate with the branches in their districts and visited branches which have requested help to make their branches the best they can be.
My name is Anne Lee, the current VP-Leadership. Before I took this job, I was the district coordinator of District 4. I have also held many offices in my branch such as president, program v.p., public policy chair, newsletter editor and communications chair.
In my life outside of AAUW, I am a member of the Wisconsin Rapids School Board and a professional volunteer. My husband and I have two children, one in college and the other in high school.
I am very interested in discovering new models of leadership. In many of our branches, we have very willing workers but people are not so eager to make the commitment it takes to be a traditional officer. At the 2007 Association convention, we were encouraged to stop doing things that no longer work. If your branch has discovered a way to govern without the traditional president, vice-president(s), treasurer and secretary, I’d like to hear about it! Send me an email at the address above and we can have a dialog about what works for you.
In the meantime, check out this website for one idea.
