AAUW Wisconsin Programming
Programming VP

MISSION DRIVEN PROGRAMMING. As you plan your branch programs during these summer month, please try to remember that idea. What separates AAUW from all the other organizations we give our time and energy to is the Mission. Advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. A wide variety of program resources can be found in the Member Center at the Association website at: http://www.aauw.org/member_center/programs/themeResources.cfm.
AAUW’s new programmatic theme, Education as a Gateway to Women’s Economic Security should serve as the guide for AAUW branch programs for 2008-2009. This theme provides a framework for programs as many of AAUW’s research and program initiatives have done in the past. The new theme is intended to focus our work as on issues of equity and education for women and girls, because, equity is still an issue.
Programming means more than just your monthly branch program. It is everything your branch does in the community, including Voter Education Activities, coalitions with other local organizations, and public service activities. Branch Program Vice Presidents, or any branch members responsible for developing your branch programs, please feel free to call (920-794-1927) or email me with questions or to share ideas. I would like to create a dialog among the branches about the best ways to use our program activities to advance equity for women and girls.
